Susan
Milovich, owner, trainer and instructor of LBS Farm, began riding over
35 years ago. Most of her training was in hunters with dressage
mixed in throughout the years. A few years ago she changed her
focus to combined training
and dressage, and has been pursuing dressage training from
both local and national top trainers including Trish Hammer, Jackie
Paxton, Reese Koffler-Stanfield, Michael Barisone, Jane Savoie, and Ken
Acebel.
Most recently she trained
and competed her horse Tidbit to
2 years of top MSEDA awards, including 2006 High Point Eventing Mare,
Big Bear's Elijah for 2007 top MSEDA awards, and her horse Sugar 'n
Spice for 2008 top MSEDA awards,
including 2008 High Point Eventing Mare, as well as top honors on the
Queen City Dressage Circuit and from The Dressage Company, and national
rankings with USEA and USEF in dressage and eventing.
Her students
also show in
combined training, dressage and hunters.
LBS
Farm is also beginning a Connemara Pony breeding program. After
much research, the Connemara Pony was selected for its quiet
temperament and outstanding atheletic ability, making it an ideal mount
for both beginners and advanced riders, from young children to
"seasoned" adults. Though Connemaras may grow to be over 15 hands
and still be within the breed standard,
our focus is on ponies that will remain under 14.2, making them
eligible to compete in all disciplines as a pony. We are also
breeding crosses that we feel will make outstanding mounts in a variety
of disciplines. It has been our dream to have a stallion of our
own one
day, and now
we have 2 prospects that we are very excited about. We have a
2008 colt, LBS Ciaran, by Fergus out of our own Big Bear's Shawnessee,
and we have just acquired the 2006 colt Loughin Jack Henry.
We have high hopes for both of these boys and look forward to
seeing them continue to grow and develop. We also have several
other Fergus
offspring and look forward to having more foals soon. Our
goal is to produce high quality ponies that are raised
with love and a respect for their human friends, resulting in
exceptional competition ponies and family companions.
At
our farm, we strive for a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that is
condusive to learning while having fun with our equine (and other)
companions. We endeavor to expose our students to a variety of
experiences, making them well-rounded and prepared riders, handlers and
owners.
We hope you will come by soon and meet everyone!
